The black flag is a site specific work created for the hammam section of Republic Museum and was included in Çağrı Saray’s solo exhibition “Hidden Works,” within the framework of the exhibition concept, the image represents the current political situation in Turkey. Forgotten, burnt, frozen and floating in the sky, this black flag without a country; marks the end of an era, the last thirty-years of the Republic as it is witnessed by Çağrı Saray.

The black flag, made of fixated flag fabric, continues to float over a handful of land.
